Dr Ang is a Specialist Psychiatrist with an interest in the diagnosis and management of ADHD in adults, and associated issues of impulse control (including eating), emotional dysregulation, and burnout.
Having adopted Newcastle as home, Dr Ang’s training at our University and Hospitals, led to his interest in Psychiatry training. Qualified as a Specialist, he started his practice in 2002 and founded Newcastle Mood Clinic.
In addition to his wide experience in the management of Mood and Anxiety Disorders, Dr Ang also works at Calvary Mater Hospital, with the Oncology and Palliative care team, to help look after their patients.
His Professional interests include teaching and mentoring other professionals, including doctors, specialists, healthcare professionals, and Medical students from the University of Newcastle. He has a Conjoint appointment with the University of Newcastle. Dr Ang collaborates with General Practitioners (GPs) and provides ongoing training in Mental Health care.
Dr Ang provides personalised and holistic care to patients, with the aim to improve their health and well-being.
