Psychology services in the Southern Highlands
We work with adolescents and adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, relationship difficulties, grief, and more. Our multidisciplinary team, including general psychologists, clinical psychologists, psychiatrists, and neurologists, means we can support a wide range of presentations and refer within our own team when needed.
Many services are Medicare-rebatable with a GP referral and Mental Health Treatment Plan. We also work with NDIS participants.
Several of our psychologists are SIRA-approved and experienced in delivering telehealth psychology for workers’ compensation across NSW. Our psychologists are registered with AHPRA and experienced in working by telehealth.

You can book a psychology appointment online whenever you’re ready, or enquire first and our team will help you find the right clinician.
Telehealth or in-person
For most Southern Highlands clients, telehealth is the most convenient option, with high-quality video appointments from your home or workplace, with the same level of care as in-person. For those who prefer to come to us, our Charlestown clinic is a straightforward drive.
A genuine clinical practice, not a platform
Mind-Care is anchored by a real team, based in Newcastle. When you work with us, you’re not matched by an algorithm, you’re assigned to a clinician who has the right background for what you’re dealing with, supported by a broader clinical team. That consistency and oversight matters for ongoing mental health support.
Our parent organisation, Educare, has over 25 years of allied health experience across NSW.
Common questions
Do I need a referral to see a psychologist?
No. You can book privately without a referral. If you would like Medicare rebates, ask your GP for a Mental Health Care Plan first.
Can I get Medicare rebates for telehealth in the Southern Highlands?
Yes. Telehealth psychology attracts the same Medicare rebates as in-person sessions when you have a Mental Health Care Plan.
Can I see a psychologist in person, or only by telehealth?
Both. Most Southern Highlands clients choose telehealth, but you’re welcome to come in person to our Charlestown clinic if you’d prefer.
Can you help with a workers’ compensation claim?
Yes. Several of our psychologists are SIRA-approved and experienced in providing telehealth psychology for injured workers across NSW. Workers’ compensation appointments are arranged through our team, so reach out and we’ll guide you.
