Psychologist services available to Maitland residents
Whether you’re dealing with anxiety, depression, stress, relationship difficulties, or supporting a young person through a tough time, our team of general and clinical psychologists, psychiatrists, and neurologists works together to provide the right level of care.
We see adolescents and adults, and many of our services are eligible for Medicare rebates under a Mental Health Treatment Plan from your GP. We also work with NDIS participants.
Several of our psychologists are SIRA-approved and experienced in delivering telehealth psychology for workers’ compensation across NSW. Our psychologists are registered with AHPRA and experienced in working by telehealth.

Easy access, in person or via telehealth
Maitland is a short drive from our Charlestown rooms. Many of our Maitland clients choose to come in person, particularly for initial appointments or when they value that face-to-face connection. Others find telehealth works better for their schedule, and we offer both.
Telehealth appointments are conducted securely via video: no travel, no waiting rooms, and no compromise on quality of care.
Why Mind-Care?
Mind-Care isn’t just another telehealth platform. We’re a real team, based in Charlestown, with clinicians who know the Hunter region and care about the people in it. Our practice is part of the Educare group, with more than 25 years of experience in allied health across New South Wales.
We believe good mental health care starts with feeling understood, not just matched to the next available appointment on an app.

Common questions
Do I need a referral to see a psychologist?
No. You can book privately without a referral. If you would like Medicare rebates, ask your GP for a Mental Health Care Plan first.
Can I get Medicare rebates for telehealth in Maitland?
Yes. Telehealth psychology attracts the same Medicare rebates as in-person sessions when you have a Mental Health Care Plan.
Can I see a psychologist in person, or only by telehealth?
Both. Maitland is a short drive from our Charlestown clinic, so you’re welcome in person, or you can meet your psychologist by secure video, whichever suits you.
Can you help with a workers’ compensation claim?
Yes. Several of our psychologists are SIRA-approved and experienced in providing telehealth psychology for injured workers across NSW. Workers’ compensation appointments are arranged through our team, so reach out and we’ll guide you.
