Walking With Our Community: Mind‑Care Joins Walk for Autism 2026

Illustration of adults and children walking together for Walk for Autism, symbolising community support for autistic people of all ages.

This May, the Mind‑Care team is participating in Walk for Autism, a national initiative supporting autistic people and their families. As a multidisciplinary mental health and assessment service, we work with autistic adolescents and adults across psychology, psychiatry, assessment and behaviour support. Autistic people are also part of our staff community, bringing lived experience and insight to our work.

Walk for Autism is an opportunity for us to contribute to services that promote inclusion, understanding and access to support.

Why Mind‑Care Is Walking

Mind‑Care provides autism assessments, mental health support, therapy and ongoing care for autistic people across the lifespan. We recognise the strengths, perspectives and diversity within the autistic community — and we also recognise the barriers that exist in systems not designed with neurodiversity in mind.

By joining Walk for Autism, we’re raising funds for Aspect (Autism Spectrum Australia) to support:

  • earlier access to diagnostic pathways
  • autism‑specific education and programs
  • research that improves understanding and inclusion
  • initiatives that create autism‑friendly environments

These services help autistic people access the support they need to thrive.
